At times haunting and others saccharine, Los Angeles/Chicago-based singer/songwriter Anni Rossi is a one-woman orchestra. Armed with a killer set of pipes and a viola that she bows and plucks to perfection, her no-nonsense approach to her art reminds us of a less-sappy, more-headstrong version of Joanna Newsom.
Rossi performs in support of her soon-to-be-released full-length disc Rockwell. The killer bill, curated by Fizzle Promotions, also features the destitute-inspired singer/songwriter chops of Southern Californias Whitman, Phoenix-based cutey-patootey folk act Stellaluna and the Mango Tree, and recent Valley returnee Stephen Steinbrink.
