Between the trendy allure of turquoise, the enduring force of cowboy boots, and that hot minute when hair feathers were cool, it’s easy to become downright nauseated with the saturation of southwestern influences. Celebración Artística de las Américas, or CALA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the community about Latino culture. During its first festival this fall, the organization has celebrated the art of the regional Latino community with exhibits, concerts, street fairs, and more.

Although the festival draws to an end on Tuesday, November 16, a collaborative exhibit from its massive lineup will be on view for free through January 28. See “Mixing it Up: Building an Identity,” which depicts the merging of American and Mexican identities at Tempe Center for the Arts.
