The art of the remix is nothing new in pop culture, with creative crews putting their own spins on everything from Katy Perry songs to the "Charlie bit my finger" video and the Slap Chop commercial. The Musical Instrument Museum isn't averse to changing up stand-bys either, and on Friday, August 10, it will remix its permanent Elvis Presley exhibit by adding new elements.
Jumpsuits the King sported while performing in Arizona and artifacts from the film Charro!, which he starred in and filmed in Apache Junction, are among the fresh finds in the exhibit. To celebrate, the MIM will host Elvis Week, which will include daily trivia games, Charro! screenings, guitar design workshops, and gallery talks with curatorial assistant David Wegehaupt.
