Women’s soccer is a kick. With the U.S. women’s team taking gold at the London Olympics, the beautiful game’s popularity is soaring stateside. As always, the ASU Sun Devils make for a highly competitive and exciting women’s team on the pitch. This season the team features a handful of returning juniors, seniors and talented youngsters, including freshman and Phoenix native Cali Farquharson, who scored two goals in a recent 4-0 victory over Northern Arizona University.

Before rebounding with the crushing victory over their regional rival, the Sun Devils opened the season with a pair of losses in California. The team returns home Friday, September 7, for the annual Sun Devil Desert Classic, this year featuring Arizona University, Pepperdine and Houston, ASU’s opening-night opponents.
