Truth be told, we’re getting a little burnt out on pumpkin this and pumpkin that. Do we really need pumpkin spice Jell-O, pasta, or Pop-Tarts? If, like us, you want to eschew the flavoring and get to the gourd's roots, head to Schnepf Farms to pick your own fresh pumpkin during the ongoing Pumpkin & Chili Party. The annual bash also features a maze, which is larger than ever this year. The winding way spans 10 acres and has more than four miles of pathways, so bring comfortable walking shoes. Friends and family can cheer you on or partake in rides, bonfires, mini golf, a BMX show, pony rides, and much more through the remainder of October.

Before peppermint season starts, get your fill of pumpkin from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, October 25, at Schnepf Farms, 24810 South Rittenhouse Road in Queen Creek. The maze is included in the $17 all-ages admission. Call 480-987-3100 or visit www.schnepffarm.net for more information.

Thursdays, Sundays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Thu., Oct. 31, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Oct. 3. Continues through Oct. 26, 2013
