There's an unmistakable calming quality to the sculptures of Creek artist Retha Walden Gambaro. A selection of her subtle, serene bronze work is on display throughout Heard Museum's Nichols Sculpture Garden in the ongoing exhibition "Attitudes of Prayer." Acceptance shows a woman bowing her head, hair falling to partially obscure her face, while Courage finds a woman facing oncoming winds, head high, with her hair and dress blown back by a breeze. Harvest meditates on care and providing. All command quietude and reflection.

Take a deep breath and take in the sculpture collection, which is on view at 2301 North Central Avenue through December 2013. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Admission is $18 for adults, $13.50 for seniors, and $7.50 for students and children. Visit www.heard.org or call 602-252-8848.

Mondays-Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 8. Continues through Dec. 31, 2013
