Contrary to what Miley Cyrus would tell you, Jay-Z and Britney songs are not the best way to have a party in the USA. Apollo’s Lounge has the formula right. First, they call the shindig America, Fu*k Yeah! Then they pack it with everything that makes our country great: flags, sparklers, free apple pie and condoms, cheap cans of beer, a patriotic costume competition, two DJs playing sweet liberty-laced dance tracks, and a hot dog eating contest. You’d think a party this star-spangled would have to go down on the Fourth of July, but you’d be wrong – Apollo’s is hosting it on the fifth. Because for real Americans, every day is Independence Day.

America, Fu*k Yeah! goes Manifest Destiny on Apollo’s Lounge, 5749 North Seventh Street, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, July 5. Cover is free before 9:30 p.m. and $5 after. Call 602-277-9373 for more information. If you don’t go, the terrorists win.

Sat., July 5, 9 p.m., 2014
