For most writers, style means the words used and line toed between one metaphor or simile too many. For the rest of the world, it means structurally savvy, fashion-forward outfits. This week’s writing workshop at boutique and craft corner Frances aims to marry both. The round-table focuses on tales of personal triumphs and tragedies surrounding the closet, encouraging hopeful writers to be as bold with their stories as they have been with their sense of style. Hosted by New Times' managing editor Amy Silverman and contributor Deborah Sussman, the workshop kicks off the store’s fall installment of its popular how-to series. Events include a 20 percent discount store-wide and light refreshments. The workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, at Frances, 10 West Camelback Road. Spots are $25 per participant, and reservations are required. Call 602-279-5467 or visit www.francesvintage.com for information and reservations.
