Larry White has one of the best autograph collections in the Valley and it covers the walls of his landmark restaurant, Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles. Celebs such as rappers DMX and Too Short, Suns superstars Amaré Stoudemire and Shawn Marion, and actors like K-Ville star Anthony Anderson have all added their sigs to the interior of White's decadent dining establishment in south Phoenix, after having supped on his signature meal of Southern fried chicken and delicious golden waffles. The restaurateur figures he's dished out more than 100,000 servings of the bird-and-battercake combo during his five years of running the joint, as well as such scrumptious soul food standards as mac 'n' cheese, buttery grits, and catfish, the recipes for which he learned from his gourmand grandma, Elizabeth White of Mrs. White's Golden Rule Café in downtown Phoenix. Stop by Lo-Lo's, and make sure you leave room for a slice of decadent red velvet cake.

I arrived in Phoenix in the '70s, and I'm still not used to the heat in the summertime!

When I’m stuck in traffic, I relax and bump "Shade 45" on Sirius satellite radio.

I never forget to TiVo Entourage on HBO.

On Saturday night, you can find me at Sapporo's with my family, hanging out.

My favorite thing about summer in Phoenix is when it's over!!

If I could redo my first kiss, I’d kiss my grandmother, Mrs. White, for teaching me the restaurant biz.

The one dessert I refuse to eat is tiramisu.

If I was mayor of Phoenix, I’d attract more retail and shopping to the downtown area.

In high school, I was the kid who had to have it first.

In another life, I was a male model and famous actor.

The one place in Phoenix I don’t want anyone to know about is my barber. I wait long enough as it is.

On my nightstand, you’ll find a lamp.

The fictional character I’m most like is Superman. Until then, I'm Superdad!

One thing I want to do before I die is secure my family's future.

The best thing about Phoenix is Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles.
