Marcellino and Sima Verzino want to feed you more than just pasta. Now pizza's on the menu. |
Just a month after Marcellino Ristorante Italiano started offering lunch service -- and with it, chef Marcellino Verzino's wood-fired pizzas -- the high-style SouthBridge spot is expanding its offerings to include an all-day pizza bar, which occupies the former chef's island.
Now, you won't need to curb your pizza cravings in the evening. The crispy, thin-crust pies are available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as part of the lunch menu, and then from 5 p.m. to close at both the main bar and the new pizza bar.
Aren't you curious? I sure am. If these pizzas are even remotely as delicious as Marcellino's handmade pastas, I suspect they will be total crowd-pleasers. Not to mention, given this Italian-born chef's passion for the traditional foods of the Motherland -- which he visits yearly -- I bet they'll be closer to the real deal than just about anywhere else in town.
