Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Food Truck Fest for Free?
The Phoenix Street Food Coalition is looking for a slogan and they want you to come up with it. Your reward -- two free tickets to the very first Food truck Festival, which is going down October 22nd at the A.R.T.S Project on Roosevelt in Phoenix. All you have to do is come up with an original, catchy, clever, and creative slogan the will sum up the Street Food Coalition in one sentence. Easy right?

Your slogan cannot be offensive in any way, shape, or form and it must be ORIGINAL. Which means you cannot use "Takin' it to the Streets" (a personal favorite but already used by Michael McDonald) or "Eat the Street" ( taken by the NY food truck peeps).  Put your thinking cap on and submit your entry to [email protected]. The deadline for entries is September 30th at 6 p.m. Enter as many times as you like. The winner will be announced at noon on October 10th and the winning slogan will make its debut at the Food Truck Fest. For more info click here

Summer Desserts

Since it still feels like summer, we're making summer desserts. Lemon bars to be exact. These quick and easy lemon bars from The Capital Baker's kitchen have just the right amount of lemony zing while somehow keeping the sweet factor to a minimum despite having a entire cup of sugar in the filling. We topped ours off with raspberries instead of blueberries, but you can dress them up with whatever you like.
