On the heels of the news that Scottsdale-based P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc. agreed to acquire a 51 percent majority interest in Arizona-based Fox Restaurant Concepts' True Food Kitchen, the tentacles of another Fox property, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, are about to reach into every state east of the Misissippi.
According to a press releases distributed by PR Newswire, The Briad Group, which opened the East Coast's first Zinburger in Clifton, New Jersey, in 2010, is the largest T.G.I. Friday's franchisee in the United States. The Briad Group, which also is a franchisee of over 40 Wendy's locations, announced a licensing agreement with Fox Restaurant Concepts to develop additional Zinburger locations -- which includes the rights to develop the gourmet burger concept in all 23 states east of the Mississippi.
The press release goes on to say that details of the expansion have not yet been finalized, but will initially focus on the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states. Fox Restaurant Concepts will continue to own and operate its three Arizona locations (the first opened in 2007 in Tucson) and continue to develop in other states outside the Briad license agreement.
