For $65, guests enjoyed unlimited access to food, wine, liquor, and one on one interaction with celebrity chefs such as Chef Bernie Kantak of Citizen Public House , Chef Peter DeRuvo of Davanti Enoteca, and Chef Matt Carter of The House and The Mission.
Add to that, Chef Laura Slama was performing cooking demonstrations through the 2 hour festivity with the help of sponsor, Sub Zero Wolf; while writer Pamela Swartz signed her latest edition of Dine Out Phoenix.
So who was among the talk of the town at this taste of the town? Many people seemed to be going back for seconds on the meat loaf, mashed potatoes and organic green beans with mushroom gravy from Chef Jesse Hansen of Proof, a new sister restaurant of Chef Mel Mecinas' Talavera set to open mid November. Vincent's on Camelback's Vincent Guerithault's ground beef sliders on a brioche bun with chipotle mayo and lacy potatoes chips were also hit , as was the earl grey chocolate ganache and from Arcadia Farms and apple sour shooters from Lon's at the Hermosa Inn.
The only thing laking at this event? Adequate stomach room. Turns out, you really can have too much of a good thing. Also, are scallops the new pork? Because they were everywhere.
