Tell us your earliest memory of going out to eat with your family.
We so so rarely went out to eat but I do remember going out to eat as a reward for earning good grades. We went to a place that served family style called Do Drop Inn, they were famous for their fried chicken and fish.
How has your mother influenced you as a cook?
Mostly in the use of gadgets. She always had a lot of specific specialty items like a strawberry top husker or a pineapple corer and I have those crazy things too.

What is one thing you do differently than your mom, when it comes to food?
I focus much more on organic and fresh. Being from the Mid-West my mom used a lot of boxed and canned foods - I don't.

What is your mom's favorite dish?
My dad hates spaghetti so my mom would make it when he was not going to be home for dinner so that became her favorite meal because it was so rare that she could have it. That and a bag of microwave popcorn would top her list.
