Hang on to your horses, suds guzzlers.

Brat Haus opens its doors to the public today, and if daily operations go anything like its grand opening party did on Saturday, you're in for a real treat.

The party provided a first look at the final design of the restaurant, which moved into the former Oregano's location on Scottsdale Road. With two indoor spaces and a large outdoor patio, Brat Haus offers more than ample space. Despite the heat, the crowd enjoyed lounging at the picnic-style tables 'til long after the sun went down. With strings of party lights, misters, and overhead fans, we easily could see Brat Haus becoming a popular hangout for Scottsdale bar-goers.

Which leads us to the beer. One of the buildings holds the brews -- and there's plenty to go around. With more than 20 selections on tap and dozens more available by the bottle, the Brat Haus bar looks to become a regular haunt for craft beer aficionados.

Take a peek at the full menu in the photo above. It does offer wines and even "adult style" shakes, but make no mistake: This is a beer place.

The other building puts the "brat" in Brat Haus. That's where we found chef Payton Curry churning out plates piled high with crunchy-on-the-outside-doughy-on-the-inside pretzels and, of course, lots of grilled sausages.

Guests were offered a taste of two sausages that could have come straight off an episode of Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods show. The tamer of the two, a rabbit brat with mango chutney, went faster than the other: python.

"Like...the snake?"

Yup. Served with red bell peppers. In our sneak preview of the Brat Haus menu, you can check out the full list of sausages that will be available, including the "exotic" offerings such as rattlesnake and, apparently, python. The sausages also will be available for purchase by the pound.

Other offerings included the Belgian fries with dipping sauce, wood-fired pizzas, and tastes of the house wines.

Brat Haus will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thurday and will stay open 'til 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. For more information, check out their Facebook or website.
