Tempe fans of vegan, raw, and gluten-free food and smoothies will be getting a new spot of nutritious eats in the next few months thanks to a Chandler eatery on the move.

24 Carrots, the healthy cafe that started as a smoothie and juice bar in 2008 at 6140 West Chandler Boulevard, is moving its digs from Chandler to Tempe, in the former spot of Efes Turkish Cuisine at 1701 East Guadalupe Road (Guadalupe and McClintock).

Here's what diners can expect.

Amanda Touter, a manager at 24 Carrots, tells me the new Tempe space is three times that of the current space in Chandler, which will allow the restaurant to do something special with the kitchen area.

"In addition to our vegan baked goods, we're going to have a separate, gluten-free baking facility to ensure safety," Touter says. "Plus, we're planning on doing open mic nights and will continue our support of local artists."

Touter adds that the 24 Carrots menu will stay the same and that due to the amount of renovations needed at the new Tempe space, the move won't take place for another six months.
