Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.

Sixth Street Celebrates Fashion On Friday starting at 6 p.m., the shops on Sixth Street will celebrate their own indie version of Fashion's Night Out (which officially took place a couple weeks ago). In on the fashionable fun are Nostra Style House, GROWop, Revera, Butter Toast Boutique, The Roose, and The Lab.

Some of the spots will offer discounts and giveaways, have art on display, and, at GROWop, attendees can catch an outdoor screening of Heathers. Admission is free.

Hobbit Trivia Night @ Bookmans Local pop culture and all-things-nerd blog Lightning Octopus will host an evening of Hobbit trivia at Bookmans on Friday. Bring along your in-depth Shire knowledge for a chance to win movie tickets starting at 7 p.m. Admission and participation are free. Costumes probably wouldn't hurt.

Funk Lab's Rack Pack Workshop @ EDGE Industries In preparation for Pedal Craft Volume 2 (a must-attend during Phoenix Design Week) comes the second edition of the SideWalk Phoenix bike rack workshop, where cycle enthusiasts can help create new racks for the city from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at EDGE Industries on Saturday. Participation is free.

SPOONLIVE Launch Event @ SMoCA Lounge Art, fashion, and health collide à la now-defunct mag SPOON at this video art showcase featuring works from Cedrillon Belanger, Emily Calwell, Sean Deckert, Kristin Lee Dufour and Frank Dufour and David Moquay at SMoCA Lounge on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Each artist drew inspiration from healthy living to create his piece. The event includes a juice bar and question-and-answer session with Doris Rapp. Admission is free with RSVP to [email protected].

C'est La Vie @ SoChu House DJ duo Blaque Panther Disco, composed of the infamous William Reed and Elise Welch, will provide the soundtrack to an evening at neo-Asian bar SoChu House. $5 tapas and martinis will be available during the weekly nightlife event on Sunday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. There's no cover.
