Each week Gem features one standout piece from a local shop. Whether it's a jacket, necklace, or handbag, it's on our have-to-have list.

What: Monique Sandoval's line Ouma specializes in whimsy, airy womenswear. After spotting and loving the formal dress she designed for Project Ethos at The Mint, it's no surprise that we'd be thinking about her delicate, tiered dresses come wedding season. (Sandoval makes some gorgeous wedding dresses, too.)

This purple ombre skirt is shorter and more casual than the gown she showed in fall, but it captures the same floating feminine essence that we loved about it. It's easy to envision the graduated grape piece as part of an eye-catching ensemble for a spectacularly dressed attendee.

Where: Ouma's Etsy shop

Cost: $340

Style It: Begin with a neutral color top. Avoid white if you aren't the lady getting hitched. (Duh.) We chose a gray Donna Karan draped and twisted jersey top that will be comfy and refuse to ride up while tucked under the high-waist skirt. Add linen Carven slingback flats for a night of dancing and a bright pop of pink patent leather toe caps; not to mention the heel's bow will coordinate with the skirt's black sash. Clip on plexiglass butterfly earrings from Miu Miu to build on the spring motif and a Valentino studded hair clip for the teensiest hint of edge. Grab Jimmy Choo's acrylic and orange leather Candy clutch with a sunset print, and you're ready to go.
