Legendary filmmaker John Waters will bring his iconic mustache and holiday cheer to the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts for A John Waters Christmas in December -- and tickets are on sale now.
Tickets for the show cost $34 for "B" seating (i.e., the back end of theater) and $44 for "A" seating, which could put visitors within spitting distance of the man who helped make drag queen Divine a household name.
Waters' one-man show will focus on the commercialization of Christmas and take some crass cracks at the holiday, as well as the cultural madness that goes along with it. He's been described as an "evangelist for kitsch," but Waters' yuletide diatribes are probably much more entertaining -- and definitely more trashy -- than any sermon you'll hear at church.
"A John Waters Christmas" takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, December 10, at the Virginia G. Piper Theater at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. To purchase tickets, call 480-994-2787 or visit www.scottsdaleperformingarts.org.
