When we last put the spotlight on 100 creative forces in Phoenix, it was no secret there were more than 100 individuals who were making waves in the local arts community. So as we count down to our annual Best of Phoenix issue, we're profiling 100 more. Welcome (back) to 100 Creatives .

These days, Emmett Potter is a little harder to find.

The Phoenix-based conceptual/pop artist spent most of 2010 and 2011 at 4200 N. Marshall Way -- a space he opened with Spencer Hibert (Soyal Gallery) and continued with his wife, Kirstin Bauer (Squeeze Gallery). He and Bauer closed the gallery in May 2011, at the end of the Scottsdale's pop-up gallery bubble so they could both focus on their own artwork.

Since, Potter's been working with Bentley Calverley in her Bentley Gallery as a primary sales and art consultant -- and, of course, taking the opportunity to create more art.

I came to Phoenix . . . with my Mom as a kid. I make art because . . . I can. I'm most productive when . . . I am wealthy. My inspiration wall is full of . . . Don't have an inspiration wall, just my brain and my eyeballs. I've learned the most from . . . My failures. Good work should always . . . Make you pissed off you did not create it! The Phoenix creative scene could use more . . . Warlocks and puppies! Actually, putting Kristin Bauer on one of these 100 list!

The Creatives, so far ... (And while you're here, check out 100 Tastemakers on Chow Bella.)
