Tiffe Fermaint breathes fashion. The local designer, fashion blogger, and staple in the Phoenix style scene is currently working on her line (scheduled to go to market this spring), but she took a much-needed break to dish out a few fashion tips for one of the biggest fashion nights of the year -- New Year's Eve.

Here are her five dos and don'ts for wherever you're headed.

5. DO GLAM IT UP!
There is no possible New Years party that you might find yourself over-dressed at.

4. DON'T WEAR THINGS THAT DON'T FIT YOU.
I can't tell you how many times I've dry heaved passing PHX on my way to Bar Smith from seeing girls wearing short, tiny dresses four times too small for their curvy bodies. DRESS YOUR BODY TYPE. Here, read this

3. DO TAKE TIME TO GET CREATIVE.
It's a holiday that signifies time, a year, an era. I always tend to pull ideas from past decades for my New Year's look. I'm obsessed with anything disco right now and will probably mix elements of the 70s glam with a dark 40s satire.

2. DONT WEAR HEAD-TO-TOE FOREVER 21.
I get that you don't want to spend a lot of money on a dress. Trust me. I get that. By the end of the night, if I'm even remotely coherent to do a makeup check in the mirror, last thing I want to see is my vodka cran spilled down the front of a $500 designer dress. But stepping out on New Years wearing poorly made clothing will make you look ... poorly made. A few reasonably priced pieces from the mall mixed with vintage can create an amazingly classy look. Hit up Antique Sugar, Lollipop Vintage, Mint, or Retro Delux for some great vintage cocktail dresses at a price not much higher than mall retail (and made much better!).

1. DO LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS.
Take advantage of the opportunity to go all out and show people the classy side of you. You never know, you might turn heads that were never looking before and they could end up as your New Years Kiss! (This is especially important for men.)
