ocal history buffs Douglas Towne and Marshall Shore join efforts, there's bound to a good story. And this Friday, there will be nine.

The two guest curators are hosting The Grid Show -- part of an annual celebration of local (and often obscure) culture and history that's hosted by Downtown arts venue The Trunk Space.

On tap for the night will be Phoenix-inspired works by local artists including

Perry Allen, Tommy Cannon, Stephanie Carrico, Dane Q. Gore, Darcy McGrane, Lisa Takata, Towne, and Shore.

Shore says guests can also expect tales of the Masque of the Yellow Moon, the real story behind Phoenix's cameo in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, the bad ass pilots in the Powder Puff Derby, theories behind the UFO Crash At Dreamy Draw Dam, and the tale of Winnie Ruth Judd, to name a few.

The Trunk Space will open its doors at 6 p.m. for a Phoenix Obscura presentation by Shore, followed by an open reception until 9 p.m..

On July 19, Allen will debut his film, Phoenix, Appropriated.
