Ten years ago, merchants from Seventh Avenue created a street fair to commemorate some safety changes to the area and to prove to the public that Seventh Avenue was a clean, safe place to live, work and play.
Back then, the fair consisted of a few booths, a few classic cars and a few hundred people.
What a difference a decade makes.
Ten years later, the Melrose District will host its Melrose on 7th Avenue Street Fair and Classic Car Show on March 5 with hundreds of booths, cars, and visitors.
If you stop by this weekend, you can expect music (Stinkweeds' stage is hosting some favorite local bands like Rasta Farmers and Fatigo), plenty of food (some of the city's favorite food trucks), and of course, a street full of vendors with goods and services.
