In order for Hal Jordan to become a protector of the Universe, he must exhibit great feats of courage, strength, willpower, and the ability to overcome fear.

Luckily, none of these is required for you to have a good time this weekend at the Arizona Popular Culture Experience's Green Lantern movie promo event.

"We're gonna have a lot of cool Green Lantern stuff," says museum curator and owner John W. Edwards, "particularly on Saturday when the guys from DC [Comics] and Warner Brothers will be here giving away free stuff between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m."

Edwards said that people can look forward to promo swag such as hats, posters, backpacks, buttons, and other stuff.

Visitors that stop by the museum at Desert Ridge Marketplace at any time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will have the chance to sign up for a special advanced screening of the new Green Lantern film, starring Deadpool and a Gossip Girl.

People who stop by the museum will also have a chance to meet and take pictures with the Justice League of Arizona, a group of cosplayers who frequent the Pop Culture Museum's events.

Those looking to snag a sneak peak of the film will have to come early, as Edwards said the sign-up sheet fills up quickly. For their last event, promoting X-Men: First Class, they had to turn away about 50 people.

So don't be late, or the Guardians of Oa will lay some cosmic justice on your ass.

The Arizona Popular Culture Experience is located at Desert Ridge Marketplace at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Suite 36-1310 in Phoenix. The event is free. Visit the Arizona Pop Culture Experience's website for more information.
