When we last put the spotlight on 100 creative forces in Phoenix, it was no secret there were more than 100 individuals who were making waves in the local arts community. So as we count down to our annual Best of Phoenix issue, we're profiling 100 more. Welcome (back) to 100 Creatives

Christopher Crosby is a graphic designer and typography enthusiast who was born and raised in Arizona. He currently runs the blog 'bad type/good type' and does freelance graphic design work with such clients as NBC, Fry's Food and Drug, and The Art Institute of Phoenix.

I came to Phoenix with... I was born in Mesa, grew up in Gilbert, and now reside in Phoenix. I've done a little traveling and am proud to call Arizona my home.

I make art because... I find communication arts absolutely fascinating. Things we interact with--like logos, typography, signage etc.--are a part of our daily lives. There is certainly room for improvement, and that's what makes my job both enjoyable and fulfilling.

I work best when... I'm home alone, at god knows what hour of the day or night...The less distractions the better (I'm looking at you Reddit).

My inspiration wall is full of... Hand painted signage and typography, mid-century product labels and advertisements, pieces from designers I admire--and obviously a picture of my English bulldog, Homer.

I've learned the most from... Showing up. By this I mean 90% of the work is being present, observant and having a good attitude. I try to be prepared for whatever challenge comes my way and remain eager to develop solutions.

Good work should always be... Something you are willing to put your name on. Good work should be timeless, something that's not bound by trends and fashions. Good work is intentional.

The Phoenix creative scene good use more... Good type.

The Creatives, so far ... (And while you're here, check out 100 Tastemakers on Chow Bella.)
