You guys like guitars? How about makeup? Well, KISS and Mötley Crüe are coming to town.
The "summer's biggest, baddest rock tour" (their words, not ours) is headed to Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion (I feel like Gene Simmons has got to respect the well-branded nature of the arena) on Friday, August 10. Oh yeah -- that's pyrotechnics and old dudes in makeup outside in August. You wanted the sweat, you got the sweat!
KISS features Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer, while the Crüe consists of original members Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx, and Tommy Lee. Though the L.A. glam rockers haven't collectively pumped out any new music since 2008's Saints of Los Angeles, KISS is scheduled to release a new album, Monster, in June of this year. (Don't worry. They'll play the hits, too.)
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, March 23rd at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com, and both bands' fan-clubs have exclusive pre-sales starting today at Kissonline.com and Motley.com .
In 2009, our own Jay Bennett reviewed KISS. He mostly had a good time, but KISS saw it fit to re-post the review on its site, after editing out all his criticism. Classic, shameless image-control, but that said, I'm excited to see both bands, and sweat my ass off doing so.
KISS and Mötley Crüe are scheduled to perform Friday, August 10, at Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion.
