Arizona Cardinals quarterback Max Hall will get another chance to throw a touchdown in the NFL this weekend after failing to do so in his first two NFL starts, neither of which went well.
The Cardinals will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and despite coming off one of the worst performances of any quarterback we can remember, Coach Ken Whisenhunt is sticking with Hall.
Hall flat-out sucked and he's the first to admit it.
"I'm excited to kind of prove I can play better than that," Hall told Arizona Republic sports columnist Kent Somers. "When you win you get the credit and when you lose you get the blame. I definitely deserve the blame for that one. I didn't play well. I'm looking forward to fixing it."
If Hall doesn't fix it and fix it fast, expect to see Derek Anderson -- the team's other quarterback, who got off to an equally shiteous start this season -- enter the game on Sunday.
Quarterbacks aside, there is some good news in Birdland.
Wide receiver Steve Breaston is expected to play for the first time in a month after undergoing knee surgery.
With Breaston back in the mix, the Cards will have their top three receivers available for the first time since the season opener.
Prior to his injury, Breaston was the team's leading receiver, much due to the fact that he's nasty, but in part because Anderson, the quarterback at the time, had (to put it politely) a hard time getting the ball to Larry Fitzgerald.
Tampa Bay's offensive line is a little banged up at the moment, too.
Right tackle Jeremy Trueblood will be out with a knee injury. He'll be replaced by James Lee in what will be Lee's first career start.
With center Jeff Faine out with a quad injury and guard Keydrick Vincent waived Friday, the Bucs are going with B-squaders Jeremy Zuttah at center and Ted Larsen at left guard.
