One member of an Arizona State University fraternity could be looking at a little more than double-secret probation after allegedly stabbing another member when he tried to throw him into a pool.
Members of the Sigma Nu fraternity threatened to throw 21-year-old Samson Fivey into a pool at the fraternity house early this morning. According to ASU police, after being threatened, Samson went in his room and told his "brothers" that if anyone came in, he would stab them.
About 2:45 a.m., two members of the fraternity entered Fivey's room and, as promised, Fivey stabbed one of them with a box-cutter, police believe.
Police say Fivey had alcohol in his system at the time of the stabbing.
It was 2:45 a.m. on a "thirsty Thursday" at a fraternity house at ASU. We'd only hope he had some alcohol in his system.
We called one of Fivey's "brothers," Scott Wootan, to see how the fraternity is coping. It seems to be doing fine because he claims nothing happened.
When asked about the stabbing, Wootan says "Nah, we're good."
After we told him we had heard someone was stabbed at the fraternity house, he said, "Nope."
Okay, thanks for all your help.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery but is expected to be fine.
Fivey was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault.
