Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio spent a large portion of last week touting how his jails received high marks after a federal "audit."

"The information they got ... they should turn this over to DOJ. They would say, 'Boy, this is pretty good, you did all the work for us,'" Arpaio said of the audit.

As we found out from the feds last week, no "audit" was actually performed.

"This is not an audit," U.S. Marshal for Arizona David Gonzales told New Times last week.. "It's a basic review for short-term visits by federal prisoners. And it's just to ensure that basic requirements are met."

However, the mainstream media picked up on Joe's claims and ran with the
story that despite being tough, Arpaio's jails are top-notch.

We want to know what you think, though. Do you trust the "audit" of Arpaio's jails?

Vote -- and see the results of Friday's poll -- below.

Friday's poll question: Do you believe Deputy Louie Puroll's story?

- 92.9 percent say no.
