Can you rhapsodize about the exquisite pairing that is salmon and Sancerre? Or do you pale at the thought of trying to pronounce Gewürztraminer? Whether you're looking for like-minded oenophiles, or just tired of defaulting to the second cheapest bottle on the liquor store bottom shelf, you may want to join fifth-generation wine industry insider Lorenzo Mattoni this Thursday at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix. The native of Umbria, Italy will spend the evening discussing the wines of Sicily -- and with a 2,500-year history of wine-making, the region offers something for everyone to learn about wine. Class begins at 7 p.m., and is limited to 30 participants. The $35 ticket includes admission and six tastings. All featured bottles will be offered to take home at special pricing.
