Three people were shot early this morning in a drive-by shooting in Phoenix.
According to Phoenix police, the three adults shot were hospitalized, but are expected to survive.
Though police haven't tracked down the shooter, Phoenix Police Sergeant Trent Crump tells New Times the victims know him.
The shooting was preceded when the man known to the victims knocked on the door of the victims' house near 53rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 1 a.m. today, asking to speak with one person inside.
The people inside the house told the man to leave, but a few minutes later, they heard a gunshot from outside, police say.
Several people inside the house went outside to check if there was any damage from the gunshot, and at that point a car came speeding down the street.
The three people who had gone outside ran back inside as shots were fired from the car, police say. All three of those people were hit.
Despite five children being inside the house, only the three adults were injured. An additional adult inside the resident was uninjured as well.
Police are still searching for the car and shooter, and police don't know the motive at this point.
