And then there was one.

As of earlier this week, James Beard award-nominated chef Kevin Binkley has sold his Scottsdale restaurant, Bink's Kitchen + Bar. The sale comes on the heels of the closure of Binkley's restaurant in Cave Creek and Bink's Midtown in central Phoenix, leaving Cafe Bink in Cave Creek as the chef's only operational restaurant right now.

The good news is Bink's Kitchen + Bar's new owner may already be a familiar face to Valley diners.

Perk Kitchen owner/chef Pauline Martinez. will take control of the restaurant, which is located at 6107 North Scottsdale Road. Martinez says she's not sure yet what the plans for the restaurant will be, but that the current concept and menu will stay in place for the time being. The restaurant's staff, including chef Wes Castle, will remain with the restaurant.

Binkley opened the Scottsdale restaurant in late 2013, less than a year after opening Bink's Midtown in central Phoenix. At that time, the chef's organization included four restaurants: Binkley's Restaurant, Cafe Bink in Cave Creek, Bink's Midtown, and Bink's Kitchen + Bar in Scottsdale. The chef announced his plans to shutter his famed namesake restaurant earlier this year, with the intention of also closing Bink's Midtown and using that restaurant to debut a new fine-dining concept.

Binkley says the new restaurant is on track to open in the former Bink's Midtown building sometime in October, adding that he has no plans to sell Cafe Bink in Cave Creek.
