It’s official. Spring is here, and with the change of the season comes the perfect time to be out with the old and in with the new, or at least, the new-to-you.
Thankfully, Phoenix’s small business owners have been doing anything but hibernating over the last several months. It seems like new boutiques have been popping up like wildflowers around town, and we’ve found three spots to add to your must-visit lists.
Whether you’re looking to spruce up your home, spice up your accessories, or slip into something with a history of its own, you’re sure to find your new favorite thing at one of these new Phoenix boutiques.
Frockify
Just because you’re looking for a new addition to your wardrobe doesn’t mean that piece has to actually be new. Dakota Jeane Hilton at Frockify has been finding adorable and relevant vintage clothing for years but just opened her first “frock and mortar” store at the beginning of March at 4206 North Seventh Avenue. With pieces ranging from the early 1900s to the 1990s, Frockify fits in perfectly with the rest of the vintage community in the Melrose District.
Plus, Frockify also stocks a selection of midcentury furniture and home goods so you can freshen up more than just your attire this season.
Rubymint General Store
If you’re looking for a one-stop shop to pick up a gift for your best girlfriend, your dad, your boss, your dog, and a little something for yourself, Rubymint has you covered.
Take your pick from a variety of locally made, Arizona-themed jewelry, fresh-smelling scents and soaps, bow ties made just for little pups, bourbon glasses, art, and a number of stylish dresses and tops for women. Seriously, this small boutique at 1441 East McDowell Road, Unit 2, is packed with goods that would please basically anyone in your life.
Galeana 39
If you recognize the Galeana 39 logo, it’s probably because you’ve seen these candles around town for some time. But now, you can shop all of Galeana 39’s lightly scented candles in one spot at 1736 East McDowell Road. But with the new shop that Curtis Parhams opened in November 2016 came a new variety of home goods and jewelry to peruse, as well.
Grab a hand-woven basket from Uganda, a bold statement necklace, a few patterned throw pillows, and a Rose & Nag Champa soy candle, and you’re ready to host.
