http://www.mijanaonline.com Some people, like superstar chef Anthony Bourdain, for instance, will journey to the ends of the earth for unforgettable Middle Eastern cuisine and culture. All you have to do, on the other hand, is head to the edge of Tempe and the plaza housing Hookah Mania. As its name implies -- and the ample supply of gleaming water pipes in stock illustrate -- the raison d'être of the establishment is the utter joy of firing up shisha. But in addition to perusing an entire side room with three-dozen imported flavored tobaccos, visitors can peruse four pages of Mediterranean and Mid-East standards, albeit done magnificently (try the buttery makanek Lebanese sausages). Melt into an over stuffed chair or cop a squat in a padded floor booth to either sup or smoke up the place with sweet fragrances. If it’s a weekend night, both belly dancing or DJs will entertain while plates of gigunda baklava are brought out, thus helping you feel even more like some decadent shriek. Hooper's may be a no-nonsense kinda place, but the bar is not without a sense of humor, as evidenced by the clear plastic globe of rotating toy horses hanging from the ceiling. With about a dozen beers on tap, mostly of the domestic variety, Hooper's keeps it familiar by incorporating regional brews into the mix. Fridays feature live bands on the corner stage, but if the tunes aren't to your liking there are plenty of pool tables under conical green lights, or boxing and bowling video games near the back. If the bartender turns his back on you, don't be offended -- he's probably just trying to give you a good look at the horseshoe tattoo on the back of his shaved head. There's plenty of charm that awaits at this Glendale dive, for those lucky enough to stumble upon its location in the far corner of a Bell Road strip mall. But once found, however, The Hoot Owl -- in business for more than 20 years -- rewards with pitchers of domestic beer priced competitively with a single bottle of a fancy craft brew at other local bars. The rock bottom price of drinks means more money for the jukebox. A single billiards table takes up a considerable amount of the tiny space -- if this were a classified ad for an apartment, it'd be called "cozy." If you're in line for pool table, get your name up on the chalkboard. If you're in line for karaoke on the weekends, good luck impressing the regulars -- they've seen any number of singers come and go, and they'll alternately heckle and ignore whoever's up on stage without qualm. http://www.hooters.com Their corporate slogan, “delightfully tacky yet unrefined,” proudly tells you all you need to know about this chain of 430 casual, beach-themed restaurants founded in Clearwater, Florida in 1983. The chain is as proud of its scantily-clad waitresses, the iconic Hooters Girls, as they are their several varieties of chicken wings, seafood and sandwiches. Its sports bar ambience (check out the banks of flat screen TVs, blasting big games on every wall) and cold tap beer are the perfect accompaniment to burgers with names like Nacho Ordinary and More Than a Mouthful. Before pinching the Hooters Girl who’s waiting on them, patrons would do well to wipe their greasy fingers on the roll of paper towels posted at every table. http://www.hooters.com Home of the double entendre, the Hooters chain has become an American icon over the course of its short life. Founded in Florida during the glorious 1980s, the company with a hooting owl for a logo boasts its own magazine, a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, and famous alumni like Hugh Hefner's former girlfriend Holly Madison. The Hooters girls at each of the 450 locations are the heart and soul (or is it the "T and A"?) of the company; from the American Midwest to the Czech Republic to Tokyo, every girl sports the same bright orange short-shorts, flesh-colored pantyhose and white sneakers. Perhaps it could be the food that keeps loyal Phoenix customers coming back. The menu focuses on chicken wings, with sauces ranging from mild to atomic, but there are also seasoned curly fries, shrimp, oysters, crab legs, burgers, and sandwiches, along with plenty of televisions tuned to whatever's going on in the sports world. http://www.hubblybubblyplace.com Music videos from an array of international artists play on seven different HDTVs as dozens of college kids and 20-somethings make like the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland, perching on comfy couches and smoking up a storm. The pungent smell of aromatic shishas and flavored tobaccos hangs in the air as patrons puff on multi-colored water pipes and enjoy a variety of alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, belly dancers gyrate their sensual hips during weekend shows and DJs spin ambient techno and underground hip-hop every Sunday night. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>

http://www.hurricanebaynightclub.com Who says all the quality nightclubs can only be found in Scottsdale? Certainly not the patrons of Hurricane Bay, who can be found poppin' bottles at this posh West Valley party parlor and beach bar five nights a week. Its amenities are similarly as swanky -- ranging from classy cabanas draped with sheer silk to plush leather seating -- and offer something for everyone. Wanna get hammered on high-end libations? Premium cocktails and alcoholic concoctions are available via the attractive bar staff. Or if you're just looking to let loose, bump some humps on multiple dance floors (including one that's illuminated with a rainbow of colors) while top notch DJs spinning Top 40, hip-hop and R&B make it easy enough to shake your groove thing. And for those hoping to impress members of the opposite sex -- or embarrass themselves, depending on their singing skills -- you can always visit the adjacent Rock Star Bar room for some karaoke fun. Of course, nothing impresses quite like getting personal bottle service for you and the date. Just like in Old Town, however, expect to open the wallet for the VIP treatment.
