http://www.sanmarcosresort.com This elegant watering hole at Arizona's oldest golf resort has quite a history. Below a banquet room across the hall, catacombs are all that's left of what was once a speakeasy. You won't need a password to get into the brightly lighted bar today, but it seems nearly everyone who works there has a ghost story to tell. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.applebees.com The former Atlanta-based T.J. Applebee's Rx for Edibles and Elixirs, opened in 1980, has been transformed into one of the nation's best-known chain restaurants, and its Phoenix locations are easy to find on Voice Places. Thanks to consistency (Applebee's barbecued ribs are a worthy secret-recipe signature dish), a menu for the health-conscious (like the good-for-you Napa Chicken and Portobello platter, part of the chain's Under 550 Calories menu), and some wacky promotional schemes (the company has asked diners to rewrite popular songs with Applebee's menu items as the lyrics), the once-local restaurant now boasts 2,000 locations nationwide. http://www.kokopelliwinery.net Quiet simplicity is what you'll find at Kokopelli. Take a seat at a lacquered wood table and peruse the bistro's selection of more than 50 wines available by the bottle, half of which are created by local vintners. Sip a glass of red, white, or blush while taking in the stylish surroundings, including white walls painted with quaint murals and rustic wine racks stocked with bottle after bottle. On the right night, you'll also find live music or improvisational comedy. Round out your visit by noshing on artesian cheeses, crusty breads, a hearty plate of pasta, or other menu samplings. Afterwards, go for a leisurely stroll through downtown Chandler to work off the calories. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>

http://www.coachandwillies.com Coach & Willie's in downtown Chandler features both a full bar and a substantial food menu centered around upscale pub grub like their Major League Nachos, prosciutto wrapped prawns and pizza. As the name suggests, they're pretty dedicated to their sports and you can expect deals around big games. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.thereefaz.com Thumping hip-hop tracks pulsate and pierce the evening air every weekend at this colorful Southeast Valley eatery and nightspot adorned with bright green and pink neon lights. Beat-blasting DJs man the decks and throw down the vinyl from Thursday through Saturday, dropping urban anthems, R&B hits, and old school jams for the folks crowding the Draft House's tiny dance floor. If you're partial to more subdued entertainment, the weekly karaoke night on Tuesdays might suit your tastes. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.fibbermageespub.com Owned by the same lads that operate the Skeptical Chymist, Fibbers is also a popular Irish pub of the traditional bent. Its authenticity extends beyond just having Guinness and Harps on tap and the Jameson's behind the bar, however, as the place is loaded with Celtic curiosities aplenty (from antique cigarette signs to various and sundry trinkets). It also prides itself on filling patrons with "craic," a term straight from the Emerald Isle describing an uproarious vibe, much like what you might witness on any given night when live music and ample drink specials are offered. Bonus -- there's a real chef in the kitchen, cranking out some truly top-notch cuisine. This is way better than average pub grub, with silky smoked salmon, homemade brown and soda breads, fresh grilled fish, and an incredible shepherd's pie. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.flemingssteakhouse.com There's a word for Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Winebar, and that word is classy. The wine selection is expansive, overseen by curator Marian Jansen op de Haar, who has put together a selection of more than 100 wines, available by the taste, glass, flight, or bottle. The class even extends to the towelettes in the bathroom, embroidered with the Fleming insignia. The Chandler location's décor and vicinity to Ahwatukee attracts the Valley's elite, as well as fine-dining tourists. Your best bet to get in is to show up sometime between 5 and 7 p.m., when you can watch a sophisticated crowd show off its cunning as it procures seats for the bar's 5-6-7 happy hour, and the menu offers martinis, wine, and appetizers for just $6. The value of the deal is impressive and worth the potential wait. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.thegymgrillandbar.com You've got to give it to the owner of the Gym Grill & Bar in Queen Creek. When asked where you've been all night, the Gym sounds like a pretty reasonable answer. You'll find some lockers in The Gym, but other than that, you're mostly looking at good-time standards, like 16 beers on tap and strategically placed big-screens airing the games. The signature horseshoe-shaped bar comes with an interesting story, too. Brought over from Washington's famous Blackies House of Beef, you could be sitting in the same spot as President Harry S Truman, Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, or President John F. Kennedy, all men who at one time or another would have required the relaxation and cold draught afforded by the staff at The Gym. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.iguanamacks.com It used to be that a roadhouse was a simple oasis of comfort on a long rugged road or trail-a rough-around-the-edges joint that served all of your needs. These great old landmarks are mostly gone, but Iguana Mack's provides their spirit with a fine selection of cold beer, juicy steaks, and crusty, cut-loose entertainment. A true homage to the roadhouse, Mack's is a wonderful place to stop for shared foods (don't miss the Party Pleaser Platter, a sampler of the menu's greater tastes) or for simple, delicious dinnertime fare (like the Grilled Steak Salad, always fresh and crisp). http://www.jerseystavern.com A first-rate microbrewery accompanied by pub grub. The Gila Gold Pale Ale and Knotty Amber are especially well-crafted suds. Pizza and green chile are some of the dishes you can wash down. Read more about this Phoenix bar or club >>
http://www.majerles.com Fifteen years after its downtown location threw open its doors, the new Majerle's Sports Grill in Chandler offers the same friendly staff serving up quality food, refreshing drinks and good times in stylish and comfortable digs. The state-of-the-art audio/video system and cool patio is a great place to dig into Cory's Old School Nachos, warm tortilla chips covered with spicy ground beef, homemade cheese sauce, then topped with green onions, black olives and sliced jalapeños, served with homemade salsa and sour cream. Or check out the popular Slam Dunk Shrimp, yummy tempura shrimp tossed in wing sauce and served with celery, carrot sticks and buttermilk ranch dressing. Score! http://www.maxteds480bar.com Although this friendly downtown Chandler tavern features the usual bar-type distractions, like billiards and touch-screen video games, our favorite pastime at this laid-back joint is people-watching. True to its name, Max & Ted's 480 Neighborhood Bar is just that, a gathering spot for folks who live nearby. Grizzled bandanna-wearing bikers enjoy hitting on the bartending babes, while polo shirt-clad businessmen watch SportsCenter on the tube and feast on Buffalo wings and blue-collar workers make like Minnesota Fats on the pool tables. The place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights by karaoke cowboys, who come to assault other patrons with their renditions of Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith songs. https://www.facebook.com/irishrepublicpublichouse?sk=wall Anything that can go wrong, inevitably will go wrong. So goes the old adage that inspired this brewpub's moniker. While it's not exactly the best attitude to have when engaging in an evening of drinking, the folks at this downtown Chandler drinkery seem to take the saying with an ample sense of humor. Dollar bills inscribed with many a sexual innuendo line the walls, filling in gaps between knickknacks and plasma screens showing hilariously tragic images of the Internet meme variety. The bars multitude of microbrews (Lost Abbey 10 Commandments, Odell's 90 Shilling) and import beers (Franziskaner, Smithwicks, Stella) are available via its 32 taps, which will likely satisfy even the most critical of beer snobs.
