A filter is a camera accessory consisting of an optical filter that can be inserted into the optical path. However the filters referred to in this show are the filters that present themselves as barriers to the photographic process, whether they are societal norms or simply physical obstacles. As artists, our objective is to break through the barriers that are holding us back to create works that display the subject with no filters. The aftermath is defined through the footprint of our creative choices. Technical, environmental, revealing, and thought provoking - these are reactions to our surroundings. Witness the variant perspectives through the lens of distinctive photo artists.
No Filter is a mixed photography media show featuring both prints (traditional darkroom and digital) and a digital display of images. No Filter runs from October 10 to November 16 at The Scottsdale Community College Library.
