If you happen to dig deep house, future house, and moombahton, then Jen Deveroux’s newest dance party, Spare, just might be up your alley. The weekly Thursday affair, which the local nightlife promoter launched earlier this month, features DJ Aloysius spinning up all of the aforementioned genres — as well as hip-hop, trap, twerk, pop, and Top 40 — at Lucky Strike in downtown Phoenix. Here’s the kicker: Everything will be a remix, and he’ll also be projecting music videos onto the various screens at the upscale bowling alley. Because, frankly, that’s just how he rolls. “Remixes add something unpredictable and unexpected,” Aloysius says. “And I’ve played music videos at a lot of my [gigs].” The party starts rolling at 8 p.m. and goes until midnight, and there’s no cover. The first 35 “ballers” through the door can also score free games, while discounted lane rates will be available throughout the evening.
