Alice Cooper, Stevie Nicks, and the Gin Blossoms are all great in their own way, but it’s been a while since their heyday. Voice of the Valley is the weekly competition dedicated to discovering the next generation of talent. Hosted by internationally touring spoken word artist Truth B. Told, Voice of the Valley isn’t just for those who can carry a tune; poets and comedians are encouraged to step up to the mic, too. Win or lose, the evening culminates in a dance social with sonic vibes provided by 104.7 KISS-FM’s Malcolm Alexander.
Voice of the Valley is every Monday at Michael’s at Park Central, 3110 North Central Avenue, Suite 140, and starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $5. For more information, visit www.vovphx.com.
