So what if your kid’s brainwashed? There’s air-conditioning.

We're pretty sure that the prototypical fantasy geek and Christian apologist C.S. Lewis never imagined that his acclaimed children's series The Chronicles of Narnia would spawn something as scary-sounding as an "immersive marketing experience." So trust it to late capitalism to concoct such a beast in the form of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition” at Arizona Science Center.

Cynicism aside, Phoenix summer is upon us, and we're guessing most parents don’t have the luxury of filtering out the pure from the purely commercial in their kids’ activities. (Anything to get them out of the house and into an air-conditioned space is good enough.) Besides, curious youth and adults should get a kick out of the exhibition, which features original costumes and props from the Hollywood films as well as interactive displays, such as a literally chilly witch’s throne and an arch-building activity modeled on scenes from the latest flick, Prince Caspian. No word on whether the lion stand-in for Jesus appears.
