Carmel's Coffee & Bakery

Josh Chesler
This Central Phoenix coffee house – located in a vintage 1940s house on Camelback Road in Arcadia – is a favorite for its warm, cozy interior, interesting artwork, and freshly brewed java (using Lux beans). But what has us returning again and again is the full menu of breakfast and lunch items. Carmel’s Coffee and Bakery does of course have classic baked goods like scones, muffins, and croissants, but it also serves omelets, open-faced tartines, breakfast burritos, classic breakfast plates with eggs and toast, sweet and savory crepes, French toast croissants with real maple syrup, and croissant sandwiches with bacon and egg. Breakfast is served all day, but lunch items like BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, mac and cheese muffins, grilled cheese, and quiche are added later in the day. When the weather permits, Carmel’s has plenty of patio space available to sit and savor your morning coffee or to recharge while enjoying a midday meal.
