The name Graffiti Shop isn't just a cool-sounding moniker at this Tempe smoke shop. It's an open invitation to leave your mark on the walls and floor of the shop in marker or spray paint or whatever medium you'd like. Owner Lawrence Owenby – he'll probably tell you he goes by "Larry" – has been quietly doing his thing on the northwest corner of Fifth Street and Mill Avenue downstairs from Gordon Biersch, tucked almost too discreetly away from the bustle of Tempe's most active corridors. The head shop offers an impressive selection of bongs, pipes, hookahs, and other smoking-related items. Even if you're not a smoker you can always swing by to chat with Larry or pick up some incense, a t-shirt or other fetish wear. It's one of the oldest independent business in the Mill Avenue district and has been around since 1987.
