Efes Turkish Cuisine

1701 E. Guadalupe Rd.
Tempe, AZ 85283
480-897-3017
Website
The Valley’s first Turkish spot is such a smashing success that after one meal there, you’ll be ready to purchase a one-way ticket to Istanbul. Its quaint, cozy interior’s hung with Turkish rugs, plates and nazar, good-luck charms to ward off the evil eye. The various lamb and chicken kebabs kick ass, the eggplant starters are delicious, and the decidedly non-Turkish cheesecake may be the best in town. Adventurous noshers should try the cubed, fried calves’ liver, which will make you forget your childhood fears of the same.
