A paradise for punk rockers and other members of the pierced-and-tattooed set, this East Phoenix rock dive is a bit rough around the edges in just the right way. The spirit of its late owner Sid Copeland (who sadly passed away in 2006) lives on as Jugheads has become a monument to all things punk, ranging from album covers for such classic albums as Operation Ivy’s Energy to an artistic representation of Black Flag’s iconic bars logo hanging behind the stage. The jukebox’s also packed with such three-chord legends as the Sex Pistols and Bad Brains, and any number of local punk and hardcore bands have played here, including NunZilla, The Tightholes, and 80*D.
