Despite its relatively intimate setting, Marquee Theatre has all the trappings of a big concert venue -- high-grade sound system, arena-priced beer, and more great shows than you can shake a wallet at. Acts like Sonic Youth, Ice Cube, The Strokes, and Henry Rollins have all graced the theater's stage over the years. Get there early to ensure that you get some parking.
The infamous Marquee Theatre is responsible for hosting some of the best concerts. Everybody from Common to Incubus have graced the Marquee Stage.
If you are looking to get away from the music for a second, Marquee also has a great back patio where you can hang out.
I went to see Modest Mouse here last month, and it was awesome!! The sound is great in this venue and it has such an intimate feel! The prices at the bar are very reasonable too, and there is a large outside patio to hang out at between sets. Hands down, this my favorite place to see shows!!
So I may be the only one who writes a review or reads it for that matter, but it must be said that Extreme put on an amazing show Friday at the Marquee. It was unfortunate that they had to stop twice for blown amps, and I think some people left because of it. But apart from that it was one of the best concerts I have witnessed, and I have witnessed my fair share. There was a high level of energy throughout as Extreme played a few of their new songs but stuck mainly to the old stuff. I can't say enough about how mind-blowingly talented Nuno Bettencourt is. It should be illegal to play that fast and precise. Now that I have seen both him and Eddie Van Halen live, I can say that I will take Nuno any time. So if anyone is reading this and has a chance to see Extreme (either on this tour or a future one...and I sincerely hope there will be more) do yourself a favor and go. That is all..

Overall:
The good Reverend Heat was in fine form last night at the Marquee in Tempe. For a band that has been around for over 20 years, current incarnation consisting of the Reverend - Jim Heath, upright bass Jimbo Wallace and drummer Paul Simmons, they rocked the joint beyond my expectations.
Reverend Heat may be showing his years, but every now and then he would smile that bad boy grin that just whiplashed the audience back to 1990 and his Psychobilly Freakout days. The whole set was full of amazing vocals and smokin' licks. Great show.
