Republica Empanada

204 E. 1st Ave. Mesa, AZ 85210 | Mesa | 480-969-1343

Location Description:

This inviting empanaderia, housed in a sleek mid-century building in downtown Mesa, serves up over 20 savory and sweet empanadas ranging from the straightforward to the more unusual. Priced around $3 each and with a very good casing of golden and flaky fried wheat flour dough, you'll want to try the Puerto Rican-style Boricua, the addictive cheeseburger, and dessert empanadas like the decadent Nutella and banana. Well-herbed cassava fries, sweet plantains, and entrees such as a very good plate of the classic Latin American dish arroz con pollo round out the menu of comforting Latin American fare.
