No lards, shortenings, gluten, preservatives, soy, or MSG are used in the process, and the fillings are always made with the freshest produce and extra lean meats. With twenty years of catering experience, the family behind the business pours a lot of passion into the traditional dish, creating over 20 flavors. You can always pick from standards like beef red chile, chicken green chile, and beans and cheese. But if youâ€™re up for a little adventure, try one of The Tamale Storeâ€™s inventive creations like spinach and cream cheese, vegan zucchini salsa, or the flavor of the month (for example, ground beef, dried nuts, and fruit for the holidays). We offer Traditional Tamales improved in several ways: No lard or shortenings, all are gluten free, no preservatives and many are dairy free. With more than a dozen different kinds of tamales we make, we have several vegetarian and several vegan options as well. And, yes, we even have several dessert tamales. Through trial and experimentation, Martha (the primary chef) has created what we think are a great variety of healthy, hearty and generous tamales.
