With a champagne brunch served 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Sunday, Venues is the place to beat for high-toned, reasonably priced dining. This American bistro offers an upscale yet casual dining atmosphere-a beautiful building with multiple textures of brick, copper, wood and stone that hollers for relaxing in. A well-stocked wine cellar, a cozy bar where one can watch one's favorite team play on one of several big-screen TVs, the multiple TVs, and a menu to die for-what else can one want? We tried the Lemon Risotto with Shrimp and Organic Baby Vegetables, and loved it. Ditto the Blue Nose Sea Bass over Wilted Greens, served with caramelized beets and pequillo saffron sauce and the scrumptious Seared Scottish Salmon over Roasted Winter Vegetables, with sides of whipped parsnips and mustard champagne sauce. Great setting, great food, good service-it's all at Venues.
