The cowboy spirit and Western shtick that permeates this lively roadhouse seems especially apt, given that its location (on the outer edges of Buckeye) is about as far west as one can go in the Valley without hitting no man's land. But whether you're making one last pit stop before heading to Los Angeles or just looking for some honky-tonk high jinks far away from your usual stomping ground, Waddell's provides plenty to its patrons. A sign on the wall promises "free beer tomorrow," and although it's technically impossible to partake in such a deal, bartenders serve up such specials as $2.50 domestic pints and $3.50 well drinks. Steaks, burgers, and other barbecue fare are cooked up in the kitchen, served up by a cutie-pie waitstaff while local country bands perform four nights on a stage ringed by a picket fence decorated with longhorns. In the mood to do some crooning? Check out the Thursday karaoke session. Got an ace up your sleeve? Participate in the Texas Hold'em tournaments on Monday and Wednesday nights.
