Tucked away in a grungy Tempe strip mall, this laidback dive bar evokes a small-town atmosphere with its crowd of working-class regulars. But despite its somewhat grimey apperance, the Yucca Tap is arguably one of the more popular live music joints in the PHX, and with good reason. College kids turn out in droves for Rockaroake night every Thursday, as well as the rollicking open-mic night on Mondays. A more diverse bunch also shows up for the weekly Valley Fever bluegrass and country affair every Sunday. Meanwhile, countless local rock, indie, and Americana acts have graced the elevated stage over the past decade, including the likes of Authority Zero, Miniature Tigers, The Necronauts, and Minibosses. And the best part about the place? There’s never, ever a cover.

this awesome dive bar hosts the best and worst music in tempe nightly for little to no cover. plenty of freePARKING about 5blocks to the heart of tempe. i usually start or finish the night with some yucca's tap room. -
if you're ever looking for something fun to do on any given night- even a monday night, when all of your friends are studying for their mid-terms or hanging out with their significant others, look no further than the local watering hole by the name of The Yucca Tap Room. chances are, it's within walking distance from your apartment and you're bound to meet some of tempe's most fun and interesting people while taking in the sights and sounds. every night of the week, you can catch the best of arizona's local music scene, as well as the occasionally and often surprising national act. as an added plus, their motto is NEVER A COVER! also noteworthy, the yucca tap room opens at 6am- for those of you who work the night shift, or just can't pull yourself away from that never ending game of beer pong.
