The Nine Best Rooftop Bars in Metro Phoenix.
The Nine Best Rooftop Bars in Metro Phoenix.

The three months out of the year where you should absolutely not spend a lot of time exposed to the Phoenix sun get way too much press. Three seasons out of four, unseasonable heat and drought conditions are a good thing, especially when it comes time to plan an evening at one of the many rooftop bars around town.

Here are nine of our favorites.

Bar Smith 130 E. Washington St. Downtown Phoenix Ah, Bar Smith. What list of rooftop bars would be complete without a mention of downtown's two-story dance club? Located adjacent to light rail, Bar Smith's open-air rooftop bar is house music heaven; internationally known deejays have spun tunes here.

Nights like Foul Play Fridays and Solstice Saturdays keep Bar Smith's dance floor packed, and on some nights, under the twinkling stars, you can witness dance circles--where dancers battle out who has the most creative moves. Our only complaint about this bar is the $10 cover charge.
